Speaker:
Building a Healthy, Durable, and Collaborative Research Community
A healthy community not only helps with retention by increasing the well-being of its members, but it also makes its member more productive as knowledge can flow more fluidly between them. With the UX Research Team and Facebook London growing by 150% since 2017, it’s no surprise that members started to feel less connected. In this talk, Linn will share the recipe for turning this around, covering learnings about what worked – and what didn’t work – for building a healthy community.
Who is Linn Larsson
Linn, who manages Research Programs for Facebook’s UX Research Team, has successfully built a tight-knit community of UX Researchers in London. It was when studying psychology her interest in why communities are so important and how this contributes to a sense of belonging, begun. Five years ago when she was offered to put theory into practice at Facebook London she did, unsurprisingly, jump at the opportunity. When Linn is not building communities, she can be found in her kitchen; she has a sincere interest in cooking with three best-selling cookbooks under her belt.
