"Design at Scale – Amplifying Design Culture Through Human Lens, Technology, and Business in a Global Company"
The Danish Design Center study “The Design Ladder” presents the four steps about design in organizations. Based on this scheme, Erico will propose in his lecture to present his experience of 5 years in scaling Design on the strategic agenda of a global technology company.
He will present the panorama of how design can gain scale when connecting business areas, technological solutions and adds a more human perspective in the design of new services.
Erico has been designing software, websites/apps, appliances, technological devices (computers/mobiles), businesses, and services that are used by millions of people every day around the world. In addition, he has been working with user research, design thinking, UX strategy, service design besides interaction design for global brands since 1995.
In the early 2000s, he was the pioneer for igniting Service Design, UX and Interaction Design movements in Brazil. Currently, he’s leading IxDA (Interaction Design Association) and Service Design Network initiatives at the local market. Furthermore, since 2007, he’s the trailblazer lecturer of design thinking, service design and interaction design in Brazil – he co-founded the Faber-Ludens Institute, the first reference center on Interaction Design and UX (User Experience) in Brazil.
Moreover, he co-organized the main Latin American conference on the theme UX (now Interaction Latin America, formerly Interaction South America). He also launched the post-graduate program on Human-Centered Design at Positivo University, with 2 courses: Interaction Design and Service Design – the latter pioneer in Latin America.
